I'm not sure what you're asking us here. Do you have an existing turntable and are thinking of replacing it with a VPI Classic 3 or are you thinking of upgrading a VPI?

Hi Dismord,
I am using ROKSAN XERXES turntable for many years and plan to upgrade the TT system. Now, I am considering VPI CLASSIC 3. Would you give any comment on the VPI Classic 3 ? Or do you have any suggestion on other turntable ? Most of the time I play classical. Thanks!

I play mostly classical too and can assure you that with the Classic 3 you'll have no problems with sustained piano chords etc sounding wobbly as they so often to on other turntables, even some expensive ones.
I've never lived with a Roksan Xerxes and only heard one briefly in a retailers so can't compare it. What I can say is that the VPI Classic 3 is fabulous value for money.
VPI are also an excellent company to deal with giving old fashioned after sales service and advice.
I'm biased about VPI though as I run one of their HRX models with the 12.4 version of the arm on the classic. If you can afford to go the extra and attach the VPI "JMW' arm at a later stage do so.
Ignore anything audiophools tell you about the disadvantages of unipivot arms. VPI's work like a dream and if you can later afford to buy spare arm wands you can have pre balanced and aligned cartridges on each swapping the entire arm wand/cartridge assembly in seconds and the VTA adjustment can be made to repeatable settings on the run.
The only turntable I'd suggest as an alternative is the Townsend 'Rock' but it's not as flexible as the VPI and twice as fiddly to use.

Thanks and i make appointment with VPI dealer for testing the Classic 3 two days later. I also advised by HiFi friends that it is really good turntable. And I know that there will have new version on Classic series soon. Will check with the dealer for more detail if it is valuable to wait or not.
