Proj-Ject Debut III Esprit with AT 95 E
Linn Basik/Akito with AT95 E
Dual CS 606 with Dual/Ortofon ULM 60 E

Thinking about getting an Pro-Ject Essential for using its uni-pivot tonearm on the debut's drive, but first the "rumble-away-set" has to arrive and must show progress.

regards, kalypso

How is the motor in the Beogram 3000 doing? Speed instability for the first 20 minutes of operation was chronic in the 60 Hz machines we got in the US.

Hello Phil!

The motor runs impeccably, but then it's 50 Hz. Sustained piano notes are very stable.

That is good news! It could be that this problem is less likley to occur at 50 Hz. A shop once gave me a pile of Beogram 3000 motors which they had replaced for this issue to play with. I can say it is not lubrication as I have cleaned them and relubricated them with no improvement. I have to believe it is the shorting bars in the rotor or the shading rings on the stator. I will do more experiments, individually freezing each part and quickly assembling it and testing. I don't expect a solution but I just want to know.

This issue is not unique to B&O. I once had a Presto rim drive machine with a 4 pole, shaded pole induction motor which developed the same issue.

I'm not sure if I'm reassured that some of you guys have a lot more decks than me or not! Where do you keep them all? I'm considering getting all of mine out of cupboards and on display.
Quite a lot of turntables and arms laying about the place separately:

2 x Systemdek 'Transcription'
2x Lenco L75 for restoration or modification
Thorens TD150 (in bits)
Connoisseur BD2/ SAU2
Technics SL150 Mk1
Roksan Xerxes
Thorens TD124 Mk1 (currently not working for reasons as yet unknown)
Michell bearing, Rock 7 trough, DC motor and DIY power supply board (gradually collecting parts for a one-off 'super deck' DIY)

SME Series V
Rega RB300/ Incognito wire/ Michell Technoweight and height adjuster
Audio Technica/ Signet 1100 (XK50?)
SME Series II pre-improved
Most of a Mayware Formula 4
Most of a Hadcock GH228

Goldring G1042
Audio Technica OC9 MLII
Ortofon MC25FL
Ortofon VMS20E
Decca Super Gold (in need of a service or re-tip)
Another Decca Gold (in bits)
Audio Technica AT110E
A couple of cheap Grados FTE & FCE?

I think that's it apart from several spare cartridge bodies- Elacs, other Ortofons, more ATs etc...

Am I officially part of the club? :D

Oh, almost forgot- yes I'm married! I'm 50 this year and we've been together since we were both 18- she's used to it by now!

I have 2,
A Goldmund Reference with T3f arm which i use daily and a Roksan Xerses with Rega 300 arm.
I may have a Connoisseur BD1 in the shed...

One source of embarrassment I put my Tecnics SP10 with SME 3009 improved in a skip when I moved house in 1990, couldn't fit it in my car :-(

 I can only assume that there are a lot of single men on here!
I have just one but that is an immaculate battery PSU'd Pink Triangle Anniversary / SME IV / Koetsu Black. Have I died and gone to heaven?

I have 3:

1) Garrard 301/1 (Grey) - in the storage.
2) Garrard 301/1 (Cream) - being set up with Ortofon RMG-309. I am planning to build a slate plinth for it.
3) Thorens 124 on a rosewood plinth with SME 3012.
