Sanyo Plus Q50 Turntable information

Postby tinojax » 22 Apr 2010 17:33

Howdy!

I am the new owner of a Sanyo Plus Q50 Turntable and it seems to be a well built unit. I've been searching for information on this unit but have come up empty. I can't even find specifications.

Does anyone have an owners manual and/or service manual or just the basic specifications for this?

Thanks!

tjax,

Welcome to VE......:)

Sounds like your Sanyo is working well, the last thread I can recall on the subject tt is here:

http://vinylengine.com/phpBB2//viewtopi ... c&start=15

IIANM, a poster said he had obtained an owner's manual. Perhaps you can ask to PIF and scan a copy for us at VE.

Good luck.

Sanyo Q50 similar to Siemens RW 777?

Postby milkwood » 09 May 2010 17:47

Posted this on the Sanyo TP 1000 database entry as well, before I noticed this forum topic.

I stumbled upon a picture of the Sanyo Q50 and was stunned by the resemblance to the Siemens RW 777 7/8 I have.

Could you check whether the service manual for the Siemens RW 777 I uploaded just a month ago could also be useful for the Q50?

milkwood,

Yes this is the Sanyo Plus Q50!

I don't know which one is rebadged but I woul assume the RW777 is a rebadged Plus Q50 as my Sanyo is made in Japan according to the name plate.

Thanks!

I have a Sanyo Q50 that's been in storage for 25 years or so.
It appears to mechanically operate ok but has no cartridge.
Any recommendations?
I'm not looking for a high end cartridge, just a quality product to get back into my vinyl recordings.
I'm actually passing this down to my D who has a new interest in vinyl.
I'm new at this so all advice is welcome.

Thanks!

The Q50`s arm is a lightweight type,so a MM cart like
a Shure M97xE would be fine and not stretching the budget
to the limit.
