125 MKll Speed Issue

Postby Enochrome » 19 Mar 2012 23:27

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here. I have two 125 mk2's: one seems to be an early version with the bulb on the other side of the circuit board and the latter has the dedicated bulb housing on the side with the variable resistor.

Both of these 125's have the same problem: they stay at one speed, the incorrect speed, and they cannot be changed. I even tried moving the variable resistors and no luck. One worked fine before and then this issue. Both of the bulbs seem very dim.

Does anyone know what is the problem and how to solve?

Thanks, love the site!!!!

Thanks for the link, it was most helpful. After reading the post, I wonder if it is the two large power capacitors or something else. Would it be the capacitors if it still turned on? I would imagine that these two capacitors do not influence speed but simply on and off operation. Am I wrong about that?
