First setup - some newbie questions

Postby tvariano » 04 Jun 2012 16:24

I just got an sl 1300 as my first table. So my question is: if I get a receiver with a phono input, is that enough? Or will I still need a preamp? Also, if I do get an older receiver that has the phono input, will I need anything else for the am/fm tuner? thanks in advance.

A reciever with phono input is OK, no need for extra preamp.

Can you afford $200 $250? for a new Yamaha reciever with phono model RX397

Unfortunately no. I'm a student and I'm holding off on the receiver until my bills are paid this month -.- so I'm trying to stay in the 100 to 150 zone.

The Technics should sound pretty good, but I think the price is a bit high, Offer $100.

Cheers,
