SP10mk 2 + 3 Parts?

Postby Ron Herman » 18 Nov 2011 02:45

Is there a source for SP10mk2 and mk3 parts? In particular the on/off switch on my MK2a (it works but is "touchy"). Also I was wondering if bearings were available for my MK3. Just thinkin more about the future on this one, I suspect they are proprietary and may not be available.

You could try a shot of contact cleaner to the innards of the switch.

Cheers,
Alec

Thanks Alec, Was just thinking that the switch was older 25+ years. Possibly over time there would likely be some physical wear as well.

The switching part is a standard micro switch, as are the speed switches. You can get them from any good electronic supplier.

If you feel the Mk3 bearing is worn you could have Applied Fidelity install a new upgraded bearing.

i think you'll find that sp10 mk3 spareparts are as rare as hens teeth. try contacting vantage audio and ask him for advice.

Thanks for the contacts, while the bearing is fine for now I believe the rarity of this proprietary part should be addressed. I would imagine it would be even harder to find ten or 15 years down the road.
