Hello. I like make the comment as follows to question on supply of spare part for model SP-10MK2 plus the series SL-1200MK2.

For question supply of model SP-10MK2 part is still this day possible to seek source of IC to allow repair. Some time supply problem is from supplier as only sell to other industry member or supplier have high MOQ level before sell any item.

For question continued future production of series SL-1200MK2 situation is fluid plus production amounts from Osaka factory much below factory capacity.

For question continued supply of series SL-1200MK2 spare part such like custom IC plus the circuit board situation becoming now for Panasonic make NLA listing of such part. This to mean NO LONGER AVAILABLE as supply of spare part or replacement item.

Model SP-10MK2 IC more available than series SL-1200MK2 plus the model SP-10MK3 as is fact that model SP-10MK2 IC follow more standard pattern < example in model SP-10MK2 IC is such as NAND gate IC plus J-K flip flop IC plus BINARY IC origianl make by Matsushita or Mitsubishi to standard pattern die >. Series SL-1200MK2 plus the model SP-10MK3 use custom IC and this day now supply make scarce.

I make suggestion if any one have concern for future supply of custom IC then make the order now if some one tell you is in stock for sale this day. Before part with money for such order make 100% confirmation part for order on shelf for the immediate sending.

I make mention here most IC remain good in service and most time is exterior component that make problem or make IC fail in rare event.

Please to excuse me as I make post diversion to make the addition for Brett post above: In model SP-15 pitch control IC is the custom type MN6042. This IC also make use in model SP-10MK3. Is very scarce. I know one source for supply for such IC and will not this day sell remaining unit as keep for own future repair stock.

Shoji,

Thank you for taking the time to clear that issue up in such detail. Your advice here has always been very helpful during my Technics adventures. If it wasn't for helpful people like you and this fantastic forum I would have given up long ago.

The AN6675 is on backorder at the moment but it is supposed to be available again soon. (I spoke directly with a panasonic representative on teh 6675). The 4011 is no longer available from Panasonic but more than likely they do not build this themselves anymore as this is a non-proprietary Nand Gate.

No issues with the SL-1200 mk2 parts at all.

Steve

Edit: Could be Shoji was referencing the original 1200 not the MK2. I don't have a schematic of that one to see if it even has IC's in it. The SL-1300 does not.

I was just doing a search. All of these ICs are readily available except the AN6675 which is backordered at Panasonic.

I think the SP-10 Mk II would still win. Better motor (the foundation of the whole system). But both would be superb.
