SL-B10 motor noise?
The garage sale find for this weekend is a Technics SL-B10 turntable with a Shure M92 LT cartridge. The belt is missing but that's an easy fix. The unit powers up but the motor makes a fairly loud whirring sound. Is this something that will be dampened when there is a belt driving the platter? If not, what am I looking at for to fix it?

Start with a drop or two of sewing machine oil, to the bearings of the motor and the platter.rtwatches wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019 17:58The garage sale find for this weekend is a Technics SL-B10 turntable with a Shure M92 LT cartridge. Thanks Alec, a couple of drops of oil and a new belt and the old Technics is running silent. Setup with the P mount cartridge was a breeze!
