Go to this page:
https://www.vinylengine.com/library/tec ... tins.shtml
Load the "how to add damping fluid bulletin".
It describes how to add damping oil to the mechanism. Yours is Type A, the easy one. Just remove the screw from the top, inject oil with a syringe, replace the screw and you are done.

The hard part is loading oil into a syringe. You need to use 500.000 cps silicon oil (RC gearbox differential oil). It helps if you have a strong incandescent lamp over the bottle when you load the syringe. Somewhat more fluid that way.

1. Disassemble turntable according to instructions in service manual (downloadable from Vinyl Engine).
2. Remove tonearm assembly from the chassis by removing the 3 screws in the base. Two are visible and another is underneath the rubber plug to the right.
3. Looking at the underside of the assembly, remove the tonearm rest by undoing the small nut.
4. Underneath the arm, you will see a plate held in place with 2 small screws. You will need a screwdriver with a thin shaft so as to be able to get it in between the gaps in the tonearm start plate, which is the odd shaped plate that the tonearm wires come through the middle of.
5. Lift slightly and rotate this plate so you can manoeuvre it out. Note the position of the plastic cam on the end of the lift bar. Make sure it is pointing this way when re-assembling for ease of mating the end of the cueing lever and the plastic cam.
6. Remove the e clip, washer and spring and pull out the lift bar. You can then clean it up with isopropyl alcohol and use 300,000 - 500,000 cst silicon oil to re-lubricate it. I prefer to use 300,000.
7. Re-assemble by following steps in reverse order.

The job is not as intimidating as it first seems. Take some pictures to guide you. It goes back together in only one way and, if you're careful, you won't damage anything.
