Technics SL-10, SL-15, SL-7 stand replacement

Post by chilly » 06 Jul 2018 01:38

Hey all,

SO after I got my SL-10, I was interested in the stands for it:

5768

But at $350+ on ebay for these I thought thats a crazy price, so I was digging around for another solution. Someone on Youtube uses old printer stands, which got me thinking. What about a laptop stand?

SO I bought it, and it is a PERFECT fit for the SL-10, plus it is aluminum, and very solidly made!

Hope this helps others with any of the Technics LT's

Uh...One of the principles of turntable setup, is that it be level. Many of us go to great pains to level ours.

I find it hard to believe it would work properly this way, or is it really April 1st?

The SL10 was designed to operate at any orientation, even upside-down!

Bought a pair of shelf stands at Ikea that will work perfect for my SL-7.
They are called EKBY LERBERG. The item number is 301.687.24.
Cost $5.00 for the pair! They only come in white. Perfect size.
Will need to drill 2 holes for the screws of the forward feet holes.
May paint them black. Not sure yet. Looks really nice as it is..

Also has slotted holes on the back for easy horizontal wall mounting.

Chilly, can you post a picture of the SL-10 on the VAVA stand?

Hi Spensar,

here is a few images, I have the stand at its lowest angle. Mainly because it is about 2 feet off the ground. If I had it on my other stand, 4.5 feet, I might angle it more.

Please let me know if I can help more, or if you you need different angles.

Thanks

@chilly - How did the table get secured to the metal stand?

@MRL_LPLvr

The stand has a small lip at the bottom, also there is a silicone anti-slip pad. It is quite secure. Also the stand fits in-between the Turntables feet.

Thanks. Just so I am clear, it’s not physically connected then?

No it is not connected to it all all. It just sets on the silicone pad.
