WLT Swap early Mission 774 Original Base for SME type

Post by websurfer » 10 Jul 2014 23:20

Hello

My First post! Though i have been reading the forums avidly for quite a while and used several cartridge alignment tools. :) 774 Rewire pending......

I am wanting to fit a Mission 774 Original to my Technics 1210 Turntable but have found I will need a bespoke armboard for the early type mounting base I have (which is going to be a tight fit on the Technics).

Is there anybody with an SME type (straight sided oval) fitting wanting / willing to swap their board for the early type (As shown in the 774 manuals on this site), ie cast rectangular metal with large round protruding screwholes (I may still have the wood screws)? It came off a Linn Sondek armboard.

This would allow me to buy a standard SME armboard, rather than a bespoke one. The early base will possibly be a better fit for anybody wanting to fix their 774 to a wooden armboard or a Sondek?

Thanks
