Now I have one back, with a Dyna 20x HO. I believe this is much easier to setup and sounds better then the Ortofon 2M Black in my previous Classic.

U had the Music Hall 9.1 turntable before. What do you like about the Classic? I was about to purchased the Music Hall but others have told me I would be better off in the long run with the Classic.

Several years ago, I was in a similar situation, trying to decide between a MH MMF-9 and a used VPI HW-19 Mk III. Both 'tables have their pluses:
VPI: Better arm, superior platter and bearing, overall better engineering, excellent customer service and support, factory-supported upgrade path for most models, made in the USA.
MH: costs less, interesting triple plinth/sorbothane isolation system, includes a dust cover and cartridge.
I went with the HW-19, and have never for one second regretted the choice. Based on my experience, I've since added a Classic and an Aries I to my stable and will be a VPI owner for life.

I'm using the Dynavector DV-20x Low MC on my VPI Scoutmaster / JMW-9 Signature combo and it's very nice. The VPIs really work well with Dynavector carts.
Also, if you get a chance, try to audition the Lyra Delos.
dixlon wrote:Thanks for your insight about VPI. I am looking at the Classic 2 with the adjustable VTA. I have 120, 180 and 200 gram records and the adjustable vta would be a nice feature for me. I haven't decided on a cart...don't know where to start?

I listen to jazz, classic rock with a little bit of vintage Al Green. I assume I will be happy with any of the three carts? Thanks again for your thoughts.
