Hi all:
I have recently acquired a Marantz 6370Q turntable. Unfortunately the platter will not spin at the correct speed. When it first starts up, it will start and stop rapidly a few times before the speed settles at about half the speed it should be. I've tried all of the usual remedies - Dexoit on speed controls/switches, oil on the spindle, etc. Nothing helps.
This table has a digital display that shows the speed that is selected. This display is constantly blinking like an alarm clock. According to the service manual, this is because the platter is spinning at a different speed than what is shown (however it blinks like that whether the platter is spinning or not). I just can't figure out how to get it to lock on to the right speed.
If you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate the help. This turntable is in great shape and it seems a shame for it to be a junker.
