Marantz 6025 problem

Postby idan182 » 16 Jul 2012 18:53

Hi
got this TT without a belt and a stylus. I've bought new ones.
current cartridge is a Shure M70B.

checked it and it was always on when I plug the socket.
checked the back of it and found out that the arm is not pressing the AC switches.
played with it a little and fixed it but now I have this problem:

there is a note behind the platten saying I should move the cog-wheel counter-clockwise and that it should be staying at the blank side, then plug it to the socket.

done that but still have this problem
help please

OK I may be a bit daft here but what are we looking at exactly? The camera work is a bit shakey so I`m not clear what is going on.
You move the arm inwards & the platter turns you move it back out the platter stops?
You change the speed and the platter seems to turn at a different speed. So what's up?

Hi

I recommend you be a bit more gentle with it for a start:)

You should unplug and open up the unit by removing the base.

Lubricate all the moving parts for the auto mechanism with sewing machine oil.

Try it again. Let me know what happens.

I have fixed a few marantz and pioneer auto mecahnisms and you need to be patient and gentle, but you should be able to get it working.
