Image Description

After being without a turntable for 10 years (I used to own a Gyro) I finally managed to scrape the money together and treat myself.

So being that you use to have a Gyro, does the Orbe sound better?

When I had my Gyro SME IV I took it back to Michell (Jon was still alive at this time) and had it modified at their factory. To be honest I thought it actually sounded worse, bass had become a lot thicker but there also seemed to be a loss of air and some of the analytical nature of the Gyro I'd come to love. From what I can tell the Orbe seems to combine the detail of the Gyro with some of that extra solidity of its bass reproduction but still with the analytical qualities of the Gyro.

Return to Michell
