I have to say you've made a nice job of that, using ply would not have been on my list of possible materials, but you have made it work well.

It was a cosmetic choice (more than anything) and a safe bet, as I've made kitchen worktops this way before and I know it works well *visually*...

A lot of people like/recommend ply for its acoustic damping properties, but I have to say damping is the one thing that has not improved with this plinth. Working on that now!
