It's a stand in until my 401 is finally plinthed but the Technics is not bad - that arm has really helped matters. Anyone want to buy a Mission 774?

Hello Mr. Tiltman.

I see where you have had some experience with the Nottingham table. My question is what is your opinion in matching up a Space Deck 294 with the Nottingham Analogue Wave Mechanic power supply. Of course I am interested in knowing if it will improve the sound quality of my table, not that I am dissatisfied with it.

I am running it through a Pathos In-The-Groove phone amp, Synthesis Mono Blocks (70 watts per), and Zen Adagio floor standing speakers. The cartridge is a MC Benz Micro Glider L2, and the pre-amp is a VTL 5.5 tube.

I am close to purchasing one on Ebay from Divine-Audio for about $620 US, but have reservation.

I live in the States.

Any advice you can offer will be appreciation.

Best regards

Herb

@Herb, I only just saw your message so you may not see this. My Nottingham came with the Wave Mechanic so in the spirit of "it's not likely to be making things worse" I never tried the deck without it - to do so would have involved creating some kind of plug to run the deck straight off the mains so I can't answer your question. However I've never heard anyone say the PSU is a waste of money. Will your dealer let you have one on approval?
