Clearaudio Satisfy
by lasseman
I have owned and used the aluminium version for 7 years now. One fundamental problem with mine was the loss of the damping agent, which is grease! The lift still works manually. But the little armrest moves around quite a bit now, probably because the grease is gone. It is very easy to adjust the arm height, since it is only held in place by a single Allen bolt. But this arm will not take any heavy MC pick ups.Mine is an Ortofon Rondo, weighing in at 10,5 grams and this is the absolute weight limit. The contra weight is almost losing contact with the treads in the arm, even with a stylus pressure of the recommended 2,3 grams. But what about the sound? Well, it is good enough with the right pick up mounted.I have tried the following ones: Ortofon 2MM Black,Ortofon Rondo Red,Audiotechnica PTG 33 Prestige and Ortofon MC 25 FL.And last but not cheapest: Clearaudio Symphony MC,new and old versions. The arm made good use of them all.
