My fifty cent thrift store finds of the day:
-Dionne Warwick - Make Way For Dionne Warwick
-This 1957 album of "early English Ballads" which originally belonged to a city library and looks like it has never been removed from its thick plastic protective cover since being placed in it decades ago, and it must not have been borrowed very much either, as the vinyl is also in excellent condition. It still has the sign out card on it which shows it was borrowed about once a year between 1968 and 1976. |

Just got two really great albums in the mail, both in great condition. Neil Young - Rust Never Sleeps and Peter Gabriel - US.
Very happy with both US is on double vinyl and looks virtually unplayed. |

Bought this little gem at a local t-shirt/used record (!) store.
Tony Bennett Sings 10 Rodgers and Hart Songs
Recorded in the 70s when Tony had his own label -Improv Records.
Accompaniment provided by the Ruby Braff/George Barnes Quartet.
Perfect.

^ yes - Phil Collins does get a lot of stick from Gabriel-era Proggers, though he deserves a lot of praise for his excellent work with Genesis on drums and backing vocals, and bravely kept the band going during the late 70's after Peter left, their "Trick of the Tail" and "...Wuthering" albums are still highly regarded by Prog fans, though like many other Prog bands of the time moved towards Pop, though this seemed less of a "cryme" at the time than it does now, i have all the Collins era Genesis albums but still consider the Gabriel era Genesis the best. Collins' work with Brand X is also highly regarded, and he is a highly respected musician among his peers, including PG.
thanks for listening... |

I enjoy the earlier Genesis and the pop age Genesis. I just regard them as seperate outfits. The same way most Neil Young fans hate his Geffen era, whereas I just regard it seperately to his other work.
Shame the Dylan album is covered in scratches (didnt see them in the poor light) and the Collins album is full of dust. Will save it for when I've finished the RCM!
Just bought this lot for £1.24 on eBay
