Recently I bought brand new MMF 2.2LE. I have connected a ProJect Speedbox MK11 and the improved speed stability has "cleaned-up" the sound, most evident in piano and stringed instrument music. This has taken away the "smearing effect" that greater levels of wow & flutter lend to these sounds-in effect the Speedbox MK11 has brought, from most of the records I've listened to so far, a tighter focus to the music.
I dispensed with the supplied Music Hall Tracker cartridge.
I fitted an audio Technica AT440MLa and this brought about an amazing improvement. Separation increased resulting in a muchg g broader more expansive soundstage and my Theatre Organ collection is alive now-truly greater bass depth from my Sub and the high end response is KEWL !
Mind you this also needed a purchase of the 75g accessory tonearm counterweight !!
I HATE the shabby tonearm wiring(shame Mr Hall)-so be very careful when working with cartridge removal & fitting..The wiring is "Baby Hair Thin" and breaks easily at cartridge clip !! Now awaiting arrival of acrylic platter. |

Agreed. I have a 2.2 and one of my clips broke off when I changed out the stock cart. I had to do a delicate soldering job to repair it. Now I'm afraid to ever change the cartridge again. |

| I have the acrylic platter on my debut III and it was a super worthwhile upgrade. Ive read that it works really well on the music hall tables too. |
