Hi,
I found a surprise in the box of my PT Export - the original manual!
I have just scanned and OCRed it, and posted the PDF to the documents section of this forum, where it available now. As it has the text hidden behind the scanned images, you can even search it (although it has only three pages of text!)
I even scanned the packing & transit diagrams.
Hope this is not too late and is of some use

Does your export have a non inverted bearing then ?
I know that the final version of the Anniversary did but i've never seen another suspended PT model with one.

Mmmm.. dunno; I'll have a look tomorrow (it is still in bits in a box)

errr.. what's a PT non-inverted bearing? I' look to see if the sapphire is on the pointy-uppy part (like my Too) or in the platter supporting pointy-downy part (like my PT original) |

If its non inverted the sapphire tip will be on the bottom of the spindle that slides into the platter.

Ah, the Export has the sapphire in the spindle pointing up from (and attached to) the suspended subchassis. Hope that clears things up...

Actually, the term 'inverted bearing' relates to the fact that the outer part is the moving one with the shaft stationary and the whole lot fitted 'upside down' - it has nothing to do with the orientation of the thrust faces per se. _________________ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana" ~ Groucho Marx |

Ah! So even ProfTournesol's PT has an inverted bearing - thanks for the explanation, Wulf!
