Here is a leather mat I made with discontinued leather samples from a furniture store. There is a smaller black leather mat underneath with vents cut in it to keep it flat and the top Italian leather mat had been taped with artist tape along the edge before cutting it to keep it from stretching and also to keep it flat. The two were lightly glued together near the center.

System consists of, Threshold amp, Classe pre, Parasound C/BD 2000 belt drive CD player and DAC, TASCAM 2 track reel to reel and Mirage OM-9 omni speakers. All power cables and interconnects have been upgraded. I plan to upgrade the speakers soon.

Here is the final project completed and ready to roll as soon as I get a cartridge. I will be getting a loaner Benz over the weekend and will do some testing then. This project has been a great labor of love. I am very proud of the work done by Mr. Brown who is not a carpenter, but knows how to do many things. I have had the motor buring in over the past few days and there has been not problems yet.

A very dear Christian friend of mine, Mr. Brown, burned up 3 metal saw blades cutting through the thick metal and undercoating holding the Elite Rock bearing. He used 4inch metal screws to hold down the bearing. Everything is level. My concern was to use the bearing and 15LB platter only.

Here you see the Rock bearing. I dismantled the Rock turntable after the motor burned up. I used the massive bearing and 15LB platter for my new DIY turntable project. I used Birth Plywood and MDF to make the new plinth.

I purchased this turntable in 1983 in England. It is the first Rock turntable after the prototype. After the motor burned out I dismantled it and used the bearing and platter only.
