David Gammon started Transcriptors Ltd in 1960 producing the Transcriptor arm, sweep arm and stylus brush followed by the original Reference turntable in 1963.
By 1971 the firm was winning awards for its Hydraulic Reference turntable and it was followed in 1976 by the parallel tracking Transcriber.
