Technics SH-10B7 obsidian plinth

Heavyweight (17.3kg) plinth system made from cast, powdered obsidan. Designed for use with the SP10mkII and mk3 turntables.

Description

Tonearms installable to the Technics SH-10B7 are limited by dimensions and configuration. A tonearm with its rear part longer than shown in the manual cannot be used due to interference with the dust cover. Tonearms with separate arm rests also cannot be used due to the difficulty in drilling a hole for the rest in the turntable base. The maximum height of tonearms which can be used is 88mm from the arm mounting screws (this is the maximum height possible without the highest part of the tonearm touching the underside of the dust cover when closed).
