Sony XL-33
Stereo Moving Coil Cartridge

Description
Generating system by unique coreless armature coil wound like a figure of 8 assures exceptionally low level of distortion.
Not using magnetic core in the armature permits realization of superb clarity.
Cantilever which is composed of rigid aluminium eliminates resonance interference, resulting in excellent damping characteristics.
Cartridge is encased in an aluminium diecast cartridge shell which serves to greatly suppress any resonance interference.
The output voltage of XL-33 is 0.25 mV, which is lower than that of a moving-magnet cartridge. A special cartridge transformer or cartridge preamplifier (head amplifier) is needed to increase the signal output and to connect to the amplifier phono inputs.
Optional head amplifier, Sony HA-55 and HA-50 are recommended for the optimum performance of your XL-33.
Be sure to set the impedance selector of your cartridge transformer or preamplifier to 40 ohms or more. With lower impedance, the nominal output voltage cannot be obtained.
