High end moving magnet cartridge with beryllium cantilever and hyper-elliptical nude stylus
Description
For the Ultra VST, Shure has developed a unique process for forming an ultra-thin 0.0005 inch wall, beryllium tube, resulting in the lowest effective mass of any stylus shank and highest ratio of stiffness to effective mass ever.
This ratio is an index of the ultimate contribution to performance of the stylus shank; the higher the ratio, the better the performance.
The hyper-elliptical nude diamond tip has an optimised contact area, longer and narrower than the traditional biradial (elliptical) tip-groove contact area.
This optimization results in dramatic reduction of both harmonic distortion and intermodulation distortion.
