Nagaoka Kilavolt no 103
Anti-Static Record Gun (1983)
The Kilavolt is a product to remove static electricity on records.
Because static electricity on records attracts dust from the air and turntable mat while the record is playing, large amounts of dust will accumulate on the return needle and cause a drastic shortening of the needle's life-span as well as skips in the sound.
Furthermore, static electricity on a record may block the electricity by the needle, producing an irritating popping noise (a crackling sound) or cause damage to the amps and speakers.
In such a manner during the performance, static electricity that appears on a record can bring about various hindrances.
