Universal Cartridge Transformer

Mayware T24-11

Description

Although the T24-11 was designed with the MC-2V and now MC-7C-111 cartridges in mind, our designer (fellow of the AES) has incorporated a professional technique devised by a highly skilled telecommunications engineer which we call Reflected Shunt Equalisation.

This has the unique virtue of making the transformer suitable for use with any MC or MM cartridge from 2 to 40ohms without any switching or tapping changes by the user.

The T24-11 has whatever the source impedance of the cartridge in use, and a frequency response considerably more linear than any cartridge or even that inherent in the record itself.

Also, the voltage ratio adapts itself automatically, the transformer gain varies from 30dB for 2/3 ohms to 20dB for 40 ohm cartridges.

This low induction transformer has a superb dynamic range and incorporates advanced techniques for the elimination of hum.

It is also much quieter than a powered active device.
