With the PX-99, Luxman has combined the most important features and performance with a striking and simple design.
The motor is direct drive, and has no noisy mechanical linkages and resonance-prone parts; it's also a quartz-locked motor, assuring you of accurate speed and stability.
The tonearm represents a new generation of low-mass, low-friction Luxman designs. It is statically balanced so you can adjust tracking force with exceptional accuracy. The headshell is low in mass, rigid, and removable, and because the PX-99 is semi-automatic, the tone arm lifts off the record at the end of play, and allows the PX-99 to shut itself off.
A unique feature of the PX-99, when used with Luxman KX-Series cassette decks, is the Automatic Disc Pause Output. When you're recording discs onto a Luxman KX-Series cassette deck, the Auto Pause Output puts the cassette deck in the pause mode when the record has reached the end of play.
The PX-99 pays attention to everything that's critical in turntable design. Rumble is inaudible. Wow and flutter can hardly even be measured. Tracking ability is flawless
