Dynavector DV 505

Description

The DV505 uses a radically different approach to tonearm design, using a unique bi-axis system.

The vertical sub-arm is extremely light to allow tracking of warps with ease, while the horizontal main arm is heavy enough to damp vibration.

Damping is achieved by both electro magnetic and inertia controlled systems, controlling arm resonance and allowing a flat frequency response.

The arm features a removable headshell for quick cartridge changes and 4 sub weights to allow the use of cartridges in the range 0-23g.

Extremely clean, smooth and open, it was nevertheless impressively musical and dynamic with rock solid tracking

User Reviews

Not the last word in detail or dynamics and ergonomically it's a nightmare without the add-on arm lifter. However, it looks amazing and tracks like a bloodhound.
