Dynavector DV 501

Bi-Axis Inertia Controlled Static Balance Type Tonearm

Dynavector DV 501

Description

The DV501 is a bi-axis tonearm using the same theoretical design base as the award winning DV 505 but with a simplified construction.

The arm features a medium mass vertically pivoted assembly at the front and a massive laterally pivoted carrier beam at the rear.

By separating the vertical and lateral movement the arm can track a record without being affected by disc warp.

Specifications

Overall length: 309mm (including headshell)

Review

Developed from the even more elaborate DV505, this unusual arm pivots laterally at the conventional place, but the front section of it's beam carries a smaller secondary arm pivoting in the vertical direction - HiFI Choice 1984
