The Dual CDS650 is a ceramic type phono cartridge with removable, changeover type stylus assembly

Replacement styli are available for mono or microgroove records, in sapphire or diamond (microgroove only)

DN6: 2 x 0.6mil sapphire
DN63: 0.6mil sapphire / 2.4mil sapphire
DN65: 0.6mil diamond
DN66: 0.6mil sapphire
DN67: 0.6mil diamond / 2.4mil sapphire

There was also a 660, virtually identical, which came out in the mid 70s.
sadly most the ones I've seen in the last few years have been defectiv, the rubber suspension deteriorates. I don't think you can open them up without destroying them, they are glued tightly shut!

Dual ceramic cartridge.

Leave it to Dual to be serious about a ceramic! They even have a frequency response graph inside the manual. I am impressed. And it is a handsome cartridge too.

Simple modifications and a modern stylus /compliance will turn it into a decent electro static cartridge.

not MM but crystal

Please note, that the CDS 650 is a crystal system (as we call it in german), not a moving magnet system as shown above.

not elliptical stylus
