Dual 1009
4-Speed Fully automatic turntable with pitch control

Description
Only very few audio components approach the goal of the term high fidelity, conveying the true sound of music. Among this very select group, the Dual 1009 now sets a new standard of quality.
Many years in development, the Dual 1009 incorporates in its design the most advanced knowledge of record reproduction techniques and satisfies even the most stringent technical requirements at the present state of the art.
The Dual 1009 is the first record playing instrument to combine professional standards of reproduction with automatic changer operation - the first to offer automatic operation
at a tracking force of only 1/2 gram. In contrast, ordinary record changers require up to ten times this tracking force in order to function with any degree of reliability.
Thanks to the unique tracking ability of its tonearm, the Dual 1009 is the first automatic record player able to accommodate cartridges of even the highest compliance.
No compromise whatever need be made for the convenience of automatic operation - no compromise either in fidelity of performance or in record wear.

User Reviews
I picked up a cherry Dual 1009 from an estate auction with all the original hardware and a like new dustcover for $25.After a good cleaning and lube,it plays quite well with an original Shure M55E cartridge and N55E stylus. Just wish I could find an English owners manual to find out the proper settings.

Dual 1009 platter
The early 1009 has the 7 pound platter like the 1019 did later. To my knowledge, both are very similar, except the 1009 originally did not have anti-skating. The newer 1009F & the SK have the 4 lb. platter.
Dual 1009 SK
I owned a Dual 1009 SK from the late 70's until 1995 when it was loaned out and never returned. In the fall of 1998 I found another one at a garage sale which was in bad condition but still worked. I bought a really nice 1009F from EBay last year and have restored the SK. It's amazing how well these have stood up to the years and into the digital age. With a new Shure M44G on the SK and an Audio Technica AT-71 on the F these tables rock!!
Much appreciated
I am picking up my "new"Dual 1009 tomorrow. The first turntable I have had in years, and the first ever of this calibre.
I am much more confident about the whole affair knowing that I have a service manual to fall back on.
Great work.
